Preparation Instructions :
It is suggested that one (1) Kava beverage be prepared using 10 g (a tablespoon) of ground kava powder mixed with 250 ml of water.Daily Recommended Limit: Four (4) kava beverages per person.Best taken before eating. Please use in moderation. May cause drowsiness. Keep out of reach of children. Adult use only. Do not use if seal is broken. Store below 25°C in a cool dry place.Useful equipment for the preparation of a kava beverage includes a medium sized bowl and a straining bag or cloth.
PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Place an empty straining bag into an empty bowl.
- Add the suggested 10 g of Kava powder into the straining bag.
- Pour the recommended 250 mL of water into the straining bag with the Kava powder in it.
- Allow it to sit and steep for 5 – 10 minutes.
- Lift the bag slightly and twist the top of the straining bag closed, gently allowing all the excess air out. (Ensure that the wet Kava powder does not escape).
- Begin to knead the straining bag in the bowl and from time to time squeeze the bag. You should see the liquid change colour from light to heavy brown. (Dependent upon the quantity of liquid squeezed out of the straining bag).
- Lift the bag out of the bowl and then twist and squeeze the bag to remove all the liquid from the Kava powder captured in the bag.
- Pour the liquid out of the bowl into a cup.
- Gently stir the Kava beverage to keep it blended.
- Your Kava beverage is now ready for consumption.
The beverage is best consumed in one go.
